TAN TIPS 〰️

    • Exfoliate and shave any unwanted body hair 24 hours before your appointment (no moisture strip razors!)

    • An exfoliating mit or glove works well- be sure to scrub really well and everywhere

    • Avoid using products with heavy oils or harsh products that leave a residue. I do NOT recommend Dove soap or Treehut scrubs

    • Moisturize- well cared for skin will hold a spray tan much better than thirsty skin

    • Do the dishes; because you won’t be able to for the first 24 hours AFTER your tan.

    • Make sure all previous tan has been properly exfoliated off to make way for your fresh tan

    • If you remove unwanted body hair via waxing, please do so no sooner than 48 hours before your spray tan appointment.

    • Waxing leaves your pores open and exposed- give them time to settle so you don’t get a speckled effect from your tan.

    • Waxing can pair beautifully with spray tans when timed correctly!

    • Your artist will give you a custom rinse time based on your skin tone and tan goals

    • While rinsing, use lukewarm water as hot water can dry your skin out (think peeling) and rub your skin gently with just your hands

    • Streaky legs after the first rinse are typically due to inadequate rinsing. The water should run clear

    • No sweaty activities for the first 24 hours

    • Your tan isn’t fully developed until 24 hours after your spray

    • Have a soap shower and moisturize your skin

    • Moisturize 2x a day to keep your tan gorgeous and lasting

    • Moisturize frequently while wearing your spray tan

    • Avoid exfoliating until you are ready to remove your tan

    • Report any issues with your tan to me

    • You can use gradual tan lotion in the evening to extend the life of your tan

    • You can use tanning water on your face to extend the life of your tan

    • Use hydrating, gentle products (Brands that carry spray tan solution are great places to shop since they want their tans to last and look great)

    • Use SPF!! Sun Bum and Bask are safe brands. Avoid aerosol spf as the alcohol in it can be drying.

    • Don’t use harsh soaps

    • Don’t use products with AHAs, BHAs, petrolatum, heavy oils, mineral oil, or sulfates

    • Don’t get a sunburn or your tan will peel right off! Spray tans are NOT protection from the sun

    • Don’t pee in the shower- I’ll know when you send me pictures of your streaky legs and ankles
